Count on Vermentino for excellent rosé wines

Vermentino, which is also known as Rolle or Malvoisie, is characterized by large bunches of sizeable grapes. It is believed that Vermentino came from a vineyard in Madeira, passing through Spain before reaching France. Although it is generally resilient, it’s sensitive to wind and grey rot. Known for being robust and productive, this variety adapts well to all soil types. It thrives in the Languedoc’s warm temperatures and poor-quality soil.
